1:10 Groups

You were made to belong.

Every human being is created in the image of God, and part of bearing God’s image is a deep desire for community.

1:10 Community Groups exist to promote the development of significant Christian relationships centered around the study of God’s Word. We base the name on Colossians 1:10, trusting that participants would grow in their ability to image Jesus and walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, bearing fruit, and learning more and more about Jesus.

What is a 1:10 Community Group?

1:10 Groups are small groups that meet weekly or bi-weekly, often in people’s homes for sharing, study, support, and mission. The name is based on Colossians 1:10 where Paul tells the church in Colossae that he prays for them, “asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”

Sharing

Each week, we will take time to share what is happening in our lives. If you’re new, it may take some time to get acquainted, but over time relationships will grow deeper as your group feels safer and more comfortable.

U

Study

1:10 Groups are sermon-based. Each week we’ll study a portion of God’s Word that relates to the previous weekend’s sermon. Our goal is to learn how to apply and live out our Christianity in our day-to-day experiences and relationships.

Support

Each week, we’ll learn how to take care of one another as Christ commanded (see John 15:9-13). This care will take many forms, such as praying, listening, meeting needs, and encouraging and even challenging one another as needed.

Mission

A couple times a year, each 1:10 Group participates in some type of missional engagement together in our community.

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
