Old School: Part 2
Enroute to the Promised Land
Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy
Sunday, September 10, 2017
We’re going to Old Testament School and learning the primary storyline of the Old Testament. In our second part of the storyline we see that Israel has multiplied greatly after 400 years in Egypt. A new king (Pharaoh) is now in power and he oppresses God’s people greatly. They cry out to God and he raises up Moses to deliver them in a miraculous way and take to them to the land promised to their ancestor, Abraham. On the way God gives them instructions at Mount Sinai for how to live in the land once they arrive. Just before they were to enter the land, however, the people of Israel disobeyed God and refused to trust him and follow him in faith. Because of their sin, that entire generation would wander and die in the wilderness, rather than receive the blessing God wanted to give them.
