We Preach Jesus.

We’re fond of saying, It’s All About Jesus! – Why? Because It’s All About Jesus!

Preaching at Wawasee Bible focuses on what Jesus has done to rescue, redeem, and restore us by his work on the cross. God’s Word is clear that apart from Jesus Christ, we’re hopeless to save ourselves. So rather than offer self-help that would explain how you can make your life better, we preach repentance and how in turning to Jesus, he will make you better.

As a general rule we preach through entire books of the bible, verse by verse, explaining how all of it points to Jesus.

It's All About Jesus, My Hope

It\'s All About Jesus, My Hope

Psalm 146 reminds us of the unwavering faithfulness and goodness of God and all it motivates us to do. First it motivates us to praise him. We need to remind each other to praise God, and even to remind our own souls to praise him. There's days we may not feel like it, and we encourage one another with our praises. Second we're motivated to wholeheartedly trust Jesus, rather than in human beings, institutions, worldly circumstances, our own abilities. Jesus alone can save! Last we're motivated to make Jesus alone our hope. Psalm 146 lists 12 characteristics of God (which parallel descriptions of Jesus in Isaiah 61:1-3 and Luke 4:18-19; 7:22-23). These give us reasons to make Jesus our hope, trust him, and praise him!

Scripture References: John 8:12, Psalms 146:1-10, Ephesians 1:18, John 9:1-39, John 8:36, Psalms 1:1-6, Acts 13:39, Romans 3:23-24, John 6:35, James 4:6, Philippians 3:20

From Series: "Jesus: My God in the Psalms"

Is Jesus just Jesus or “my Jesus” to you? To follow Jesus means we are possessive toward him, and Jesus is possessive of us. To know Jesus, then, is to know him as My King, My Light, My Shepherd, MY God.
