Jesus demonstrates both his compassion and his authority in this passage. While he desires to serve us, he requires we remain faithful. We are to wait ready for his return, stewarding our lives, our time, talent, and treasure until the Master returns. (And he is returning!) Would you live and give in the same way if you believed Jesus were returning tomorrow?
